You must be at least 18 to view its contents. These are just covers anyway. No interiors. Click on an image to see a bigger version. Facts about HandJob Library: This was a series of long running but sporadically published, and occasionally variant in quality mini comix -- 16 pagers -- published on 20 pound white letter stock. More slapstick, one liner based, hardcore sexy humor with a lot of the covers by Wiley Spade. Their existence was a direct result of the aforementioned fire of June 17, 1980, which destroyed, among other things, over 200 pages of unpublished artwork, stockpiled in order to quicken up publication scheduling. In fact, work on four or five was completely donated by sympathetic pals. These were sold strictly by mail order, with their main attractions being shorter production schedules and very low overhead, with the lower sale volumes offset by the lack of retailer discounts. Self publishing comix is a tough racket, but over time -- throughout the 80s -- these modest efforts helped put me back in the black. For a while anyway. Facts about Private Strokes: This was a companion series to the more successful HandJob Library mini comix. A midsize book -- same 20 pound letter stock but folded only once (minis are folded twice) -- they were actually published first, with the minis coming later. After five issues, it was decided to go with the minis. Actually a better quality per page ratio but, in light of then recent events, one of my first purely financial decisions as a publisher. Features more of the same crew and contents as previous books, but no donated work, other than occasional Wiley Spade adverts. HandJob Library/Private Strokes © 1980-1989, 2000 by Larry Fuller.
