Here you can see the Panasonic CD-player I installed, and the Maglite flashlight mounted in its brackets near the floor. The light is the style used by many police officers. It uses 2 D cells, is very bright and reliable, and its batteries seem to last forever.

I installed this flashlight before I found a bracket to install the AA flashlight near the sliding door. If I'd found the brackets in reverse order, I'm not sure I'd go to the trouble of mounting the big light up front, because the little AA light is handier and generally meets my needs.
