How you can help save the TIGER

There are many organizations on and off the web that tell how they (and how you could too) contribute to the fight to save these beautiful animals, my cousins, the TIGER!! Here are a few:
Exxon/Mobil. They have set up a fund where when you buy gas from them, a part of the money goes to their fund to save the tiger.

Earthtrust initiated its first land-based program in 1989, focusing on the need to preserve and protect tigers. As an outgrowth of the process of gathering information, establishing Asian contacts and building a worldwide network for tiger protection, Earthtrust's concerns have expanded to include other species endangered by illegal trade and vanishing habitats. PLease go to www.earthtrust.com for more information.

There is an alternative scientific idea I would like to put forth. Cloning is a very new idea, and needs work, but maybe it is time we think seriously about cloning endangered animals. We could clone maybe a thousand of the tigers left in the wild, and let them live in the wild and let survival of the fittest take over. However, humans need to do their part. They need to stop poaching, as Daemon explained, and start conserving, as Serenity explained, or it doesn't matter how many more tigers we put out there, if they haven't the territory, they will die!
Watching where your money goes can help. There may be places near you where people are buying and selling tiger parts (and other endangered animal parts) on the black market. Some places in San Francisco has been known to do that. These organizations (if you can call it that) would be working in "touristy" parts of participating cities or towns.
Remember, a very easy way we all can do our part in saving my cousins, the tiger, is to recycle. If we recycle, as Serenity has explained, we don't need to use the land other animals use to live. You can not buy products that are made of skins and furs. The skin and fur looks best on the animal it belongs to. When you buy calendars and books on animals, such as the tiger, look for the Wildlife Foundation sticker. This means that a portion (or all) of the price of the product will be given to the Wildlife Foundation. As Ricky had relayed, there are only 5,000 tigers left on this beautiful world, lets fight to keep them alive!
