Here is a letter from JH, who has done a remarkable job passing on his knowledge about our rights:
"What has worked for me is going one on one with acquaintances. Go slowly, talk about shooting, hunting, etc. Move into the politics, history and loss of rights. I was transferred to a new shop a few years back and soon found there was only one avid hunter in the whole place and no active sport shooters. No CCW permittees in the whole place. Since then I have converted two to political activism, though both prefer the taxation war, and there are now 6 CCW permits out of a group of 14 with at least three more considering getting theirs. I sometimes write letters for these guys to sign and send to their reps and they do it. Now instead of debates at the break table, we have discussions of current events and dissemination of information. Once the truth is out on the table it's hard to argue with. These guys take this information with them wherever they go and it spreads like a virus, more people become informed all the time.""Shame I didn't file any of them but my tactics come from reading dozens of articles on the subject over the years. It's really nothing special, shooting is fun and people take to it real fast. As far as the politics go, once you supply the facts and cite the source, the debate is over for anyone with an open mind trying to form an opinion. Gun haters are VERY hard to convert, they are too set in their ways but if you somehow get them to the range you've got your foot in the door. I haven't really ever converted any hard core anti gunners but I have seen a few wives of farmers come around to hunting after they find out their barns don't have to fall down and their tractors don't have to break axles if someone shoots the groundhogs on the property. One in particular even let me teach her kids how to shoot after I had been around enough for her to see how safely I operated. Funny thing, the only accidental discharge I have ever experienced happened 3 feet from her head one day when the 1 3/4 pound trigger on my varmint rifle let loose when I was opening the bolt to unload. Of course I was in a safe direction when it happened and she realized that with proper application of safe handling practices bad things don't happen. Now she let's her kids take care of the varmints on the property."
Just think if this sort of scenario could be duplicated by the thousands or millions? Our American heritage would be saved. The anti-gunners wouldn't dare lift their heads out of their holes.
