Tactics: Decide carefully what 'ammuntion' is best suited for maximum effect. What particular information or approach will best educate this person or group? Some examples: Strategy: Take the heat off of gun owners every time there is a school shooting, or anti-gunners talk about out of control "gun violence". Target:The local school board, anyone who is a parent: Tactic: You don't even have to mention guns with this one: David Grossman's article, "Trained to Kill", about media violence and school shootings, is a must for every parent, teacher, school official and the local Board of Education. Back it up with the article by Dr. Centerwall and his international study on TV violence. Staple a poster about media violence and school shootings to the back of the article for emotional impact. Send copies to the Board of Education. Follow up with a phone call, expressing your concern about school violence. Make dozens of cheap copies at the copy shop, put one into every teacher's school office mailbox at the local school. Pass some out at school board meetings or at the PTA. |
