Why "Gun Control"? Cultural corruption and the media
The flow of Power in the United States:
It all begins with what the people want.
What they want depends on how they see the world around them. How they think and feel.
Then politicians pass laws they think the people want, so they will be reelected.
"Lie and legislate, lie and legislate...."
The Problem:
The problem is that people's view of the world has been affected for the last 30 years by a mass media which is 95% controlled by urban-liberal-democrat-socialists. As blowing sand can wear away a mountain, so American cultural traditions have been worn away by years of unrelenting thought shaping on a scale unprecedented in human history. A gentle breeze ruffles your hair, a tornado blows whole neighborhoods away. The breeze of opinion has turned into a tornado of propaganda. Many older Americans remember kids bringing hunting rifles to school, so they could hunt on the way home. No big deal. Now a young girl, an honor student, can be expelled for carrying a pair of safety scissors. Or a little boy can create classroom hysteria by drawing a heroic picture of a U.S. soldier holding his rifle.
Under the onslaught of media induced cultural erosion, the American people have lost their moral strength. The traditional American was rational, responsible and behaved and felt like an independent adult. The new American is increasingly emotional, irresponsible, and behaves and feels like a dependent child.
Unalienable rights are for rational adults, not for children. A rational adult feels they can take care of themselves. A child feels dependent, and looks to others for safety, care and protection.
Firearms ownership has become an issue because it is a litmus test of rational adult responsibility. Those who feel like independent adults are outraged when some beaurocrat they have never met announces they must surrender the ultimate power that gun ownership brings. They know instinctively that all political power ultimately flows from the threat of violence. Even a parking ticket is enforced at gun point. What happens if you don't pay it? They put out a warrant for your arrest. What happens if you resist with real force? The police will shoot you.
The original intent of the Second Amendment was stated clearly. It's purpose was to insure the ultimate force of violence remains in the hands of the people, not the government.
But as more and more people feel more like dependent children, they look more and more to government for safety, care and protection. A kind of ultimate parent substitute. And the government responds by treating more of the people like dependent children. The relationship between the upper class urban liberal democrat elitists and their constituents more and more resembles a parent-child relationship. As more Americans sink further into irresponsible child like behavior, violence, crime and chaos mount. The parental government responds by imposing ever tighter controls on the rights of it's citizens in general. Those citizens who don't feel or act like children are outraged. So the traditional mature, independent American is now caught in the middle between the liberal ruling elite which controls the media and government, and their constituents who want, or need, to be taken care of like children.
That is what has happened to our Second Amendment rights. A young criminal gets an illegal gun and kills people. The solution of the elitist parent/government is to pass laws that take away guns from the traditional American who wasn't creating the problem in the first place. For this type of government sees all the people as dependent children in need of their guidance and care. Any type of independent power and autonomy by the people is instinctively reacted to as a threat.
