Hush. You are about to enter the sacred hall. All those enshrined here have become well known for their veiws that their neighbors, ordinary citizens like you, shouldn't be able to defend themselves with a firearm. When it was revealed that they themselves were protected by the power of the gun, they showed themselves to be world class hypocrites, and so have entered this eternal HALL OF SHAME.
Senator Ted Kenndy
Bodyguard was arrested for carrying concealed full-auto weapon.
Senator Diane Feinstein
Admitted to once carrying a handgun for self-defense, after terrorist threats were allegedly made against her. Now officially denies carrying. Now protected at tax payers expense as a Calfornia Senator. Like many politicians, she is also quite wealthy, owns a 17 million dollar airplane, and lives in an exclusive and well protected community.
Writer Carl Rowan
Well known columnist residing in Washington DC. (Now deceased) Once stated that no one should own guns, and if they were caught with one, they should spend a mandatory year in jail. One night some drunken teenagers got into his backyard, and he shot one of them in the foot with an unregistered handgun his brother had given him! He thereafter stated that he was still "against guns" but that until the criminals were under control, he would reserve the right to defend himself as he saw fit!
Talk show host Rosie O'Donnel
Notorious for her TV "ambush" of NRA member Tom Sellek while he was appearing on her talk show. Later it was revealed that her son is protected by a gun toting bodyguard. When confronted by this blatant hypocrisy, she stated that how she protects her son is nobody's business but hers!
Police Cheif Joseph McNamara
Former San Jose Chief of Police known for his anti-gun veiws. Once interveiwed in his home for a TV show pushing gun control. At the end of the show, the reporter asked him about the revolver laying in plain sight on his nightstand! (with no trigger lock) He mumbled something about needing protection.
USA TODAY 10/26/90 -- In their daily "VOICES" section in which that day's question was "Do we need stronger gun-control laws?", San Jose chief Joseph McNamara, finally came out of the closet and admitted he wants to ban all guns (except his) when he answered "Definitely ... It's time for domestic disarmament."
Oregon House Rep and former Senator Randy Leonard
This Democrat from Portland is a Fireman and one of the most belligerent foes of gun rights in Oregon. He has been quoted as saying he carries a gun out of fear of angry gun owners!
Former Oregon House Rep and Gubernatorial Candidate Kevin Mannix
Authored HB 2535, an attack on gun shows, yet has a concealed handgun license.
California State Senator Don Perata
State Senator Don Perata has a concealed weapons permit, while at the same time supports bans on affordable handguns for ordinary people.
Joseph D. Morrissey
RICHMOND TIMES DISPATCH 2/5/91 -- Anti-gun hypocrite, Joseph D. Morrissey, Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney, testified in favor of stricter gun control as he stated "the only reason a person would carry a loaded gun in a car would be to commit a crime." This fine newspaper reported that Morrissey himself obtained a permit to carry a concealed firearm just two months ago. When confronted with this, he admitted the permit but said he still doesn't carry.
Jim Brady
VANITY FAIR MAGAZINE JAN.'91 -- A 10 page article on Sarah and Jim Brady, although a typical anti-gun propaganda piece, reveals some interesting facts. Jim, who is described (by an admiring author) as having "memory problems," "seizures" and beset by involuntary "wailing," gave the following quotes for this article: When the author asked Jim about the accuracy of his autobiography, THUMBS UP, in which it was said that Brady was preoccupied with the notion that John Hinckley would somehow get out and come after him again and "BRADY WANTED TO BE SURE HE HAD A GUN TO GREET HINKLEY WITH," Brady answered the author "I had a gun" to the question "Was it true you wanted to get a gun to protect yourself against Hinckley?" Sarah confirmed this by saying "That sounds like something Jim might have said in those days." Those days were in 1987 when the biography was written. So Jim was paranoid about Hinckley for at least six years after he was shot. Even Sarah said she "wondered" if he still feels fear.
All politicians
All "anti-gun" politicians are hypocrites, for they enjoy special protection from gun carrying bodyguards paid for by the tax payers, who they evidently feel don't deserve or are not worthy of the same protection. Most of them are also very wealthy, living in gated communities patroled by guards with guns.
Federal Judges think their special
WASHINGTON (D.C.) TIMES 11/12/90 -- The "U.S. Judicial Conference" has drafted legislation soon to be introduced (quietly) in Congress which would "pre-empt" all state and local laws and allow all federal judges to carry concealed weapons anywhere in America. The "crisis" situation demanding this legislation is that 3 of 1666 federal judges have been killed in the past 12 years, ALL IN THEIR OWN HOMES! One was killed with a letter bomb (under this legislation he could have apparently shot the mail man) and the other 2 (one in '79 and one in '88) were shot. The Justice Department has allocated an additional $16 million ($10,000 for each) for such home security systems in addition to the umpteen millions spent for the U.S. Marshals Service which provides round the clock bodyguard service to the royal highness judges. U.S. District Judge William Browning of Tucson, chairman of the security committee, said "Many judges have been threatened. When they're driving in lonesome places they feel more comfortable when they have protection. We're not going to make anyone vigilantes, or cowboys, or anything like that." But they still won't even allow even trained police officers to carry in different states. Some aren't even allowed to carry off duty. How often do judges get out to the range to practice?
