Situation report: The American Medical Association recently came out with a new policy declaring gun ownership a health hazard. They instructed doctors to quiz their patients on whether they owned guns. So bad is the hysteria on this that an adoption agency refused to grant an adoption to a loving two parent home, because the father had a concealed weapons permit! Now with a phone book and a few envelopes and stamps, you can mail these out to several doctor's offices, marking the envelope "personal", to make sure the doctor themselves gets it. Mail out a few a week to different doctors. Send one to the American Medical Association. Leave some in a doctor's waiting room. Slip them into a magazine there as you wait. Tape one up on the wall of the doctor's rest room. Or on the back of the stall door! Do the same to the local hospital. Send some to the local newspapers along with a letter to the editor. Fact sheets and articles can be e-mailed to all their reporters in a few minutes by going to their website. You can print out hundreds in black and white for only a few bucks at the local copy shop. Ask the local gun stores if you can leave a stack next to the register, so other outraged gun owners can pass them around and send them to their doctors and the AMA. Pass them out at the range. If there is a particularly vocal anti-gun doctor, you could even picket his office, handing out the "Bad doctors kill 95,000 people every year" to his patients as they go in. Get the idea? It's a "target rich" environment. |
