Wow, what a ride.  The last two months have been full of many events in our lives, and it seemed that our roller coaster was going to last forever.  After Nathaniel finished his chemotherapy, and we have been anxiously waiting for his blood counts to return to normal (counts that did not could mean that the cancer is returned).  His ANC (the count that indicates the status of his immune system) has bounced around but has remained very low overall...... until this morning, when it finally elevated to 1700, which is closing in on normal readings!  We are very, very excited.  We now have permission to take our boy to the mall.  And to see cousins and friends.  And to play at the park.  Whooopeeee!

We have been remiss in updating the website because we have been very uncertain of his status....

During the past two months we have also taken a trip to Duke to evaluate more transplant alternatives, in the event that the cancer relapses.  We have continued to search for answers regarding his prognosis and treatment options, sometimes finding answers that were comforting, and sometimes not.  Also, we have started to share the news of our pregnancy!  Nathaniel has never been able to be around children, so we are excited to see how he reacts to his peers and to a brother or sister.  More to come soon.

Nate & MomNate is pretty anxious for the arrival of his new brother or sister, due in Mid-August.
