Western Lights Band

Western Lights is performing on a monthly basis at the Puerto Azul restaurant in West Sacramento with the next performance on Saturday June 23.  Come join them for some excellent food, service and live Bluegrass Music.

Western Lights has been a performing band in the Sacramento area for 12 plus years.  Their music has strong roots in traditional bluegrass and gospel music featuring three and four part harmony vocals and banjo, fiddle, mandolin and guitar as primary lead instrumentation.  Beyond bluegrass the band also enjoys diversity in their music performing Western Swing and other related music styles.  Their CD, “Favorites of Ours” released in 2000 has received many favorable reviews including this one from Larry Kuhn, Former Editor of the Sacramento Area Bluegrass News:

"Favorites Of Ours” is mellow; it’s smooth; and it’s just great listening!  It is filled with traditional favorites that run the gamut from bluegrass to gospel, western swing to old  timey, and fiddle tunes to country blues, all thoughtfully performed by great musicians."

In addition, the band is nearing completion on their 2nd CD!  The band is very excited about this latest recording, look for it to be out sometime mid summer of this year.
