Western Lights Band
After being away for a few months, Western Lights is back performing on a monthly basis at the new Puerto Azul restaurant with the next performance on Friday, May 30th. Come join them for some excellent food, service and live Bluegrass Music!
Western Lights has been a performing band in the Sacramento area for 12 plus years. The band has just finished their 2nd CD, “Bob Played Here” and it is a great new recording! Here are a few words about this great new recording from Carolyn Faubel, California Bluegrass Association Membership Vice President:
“Bob Played Here!” is a delightful path through Bluegrass, Western Swing, Old Fashioned Gospel, and Old Timey music. Each turn of the road shows off another side of the great acoustic music that is this group’s specialty. Traditional and original songs performed with inspiration and awesome talent—that is Western Lights!
Their first CD, “Favorites of Ours” released in 2000 has received many favorable reviews including this one by Larry Kuhn, Former Editor of Sacramento area Bluegrass News!
"Favorites Of Ours” is mellow; it’s smooth; and it’s just great listening! It is filled with traditional favorites that run the gamut from bluegrass to gospel, western swing to old timey, and fiddle tunes to country blues, all thoughtfully performed by great musicians."
