Dave's Discography

So just who is Dave Meigel?

Well, to begin with, I was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27th, 1957.  That makes me a Pieces for you astrologer types.  You do the math to figure out how old I am now :)  My formative years were spent in southern California as my family settled in Poway, which is just north of San Diego, shortly after my father retired from the US Navy.  It was there I grew up, and finished High School.

Ours was a somewhat musical family, so at the age of 7 I started taking up piano lessons, following in the footsteps of my sister, Robin.  But that didn't last long, and about 2 years later, I switched to percussion.  From then on, I developed into a professional musician, working through High School, and eventually passing a rigorous audition to join the US Air Force Band program in 1975.

From 1985 through 2010, I was associated with the Fairfield California Center for Creative Arts musical theater group as a regular percussionist in the "pit" orchestra for their musical productions.  It's been a memorable association over the years, and one I hope will continue.

During my time in the military I developed an interest in computers, which in turn, led me to the beginning of a second career as as Information Systems Analyst after my retirement from the Air Force in 1996.  My first position as such was with Intel Corporation in Folsom, CA where I worked for the better part of 6 years.  Since then I've had a number of similar positions as a business intelligence/data analyst, or working with Excel spreadsheets to generate reports used for decision making.

Marital status?  Single/Never Married.  Almost got engaged but she was killed in a car accident two days before we were going to announce it.  I guess marriage just isn't in the stars for me.  You're welcome to prove me wrong.

DINK!  For those who don't know the acronym, it stands for "Double Income, No Kids" (as eluded to above).  I'm currently semi-Retired, having done 21 years in the US Air Force - and make due with contracting work, while trying to find a full time/permanent position.

Education:  BS in Information Technology, magna cum laude from National University, 2001.  More recently, I became a Certified Business Systems Analyst, having completed a rather rigorous 100 hour education and training program with excellent marks.  Life-Experience that's too long to mention here.  I also like to think that I have the equivalent of a Master's Degree from the School of Hard Knocks.

For those that are interested, I am also listed in the Marquis Publications of "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the West".  I am also a 2-time inductee as an "Outstanding Young Man of America".  If you would like to visit their area websites, click on the following links:

So all this makes me sound like some sort of snooty stuck-up schmuck.  Well, all the above means is that other people have graciously acknowledged me for a lot of hard work I've done for them, and for the honors, I am grateful.  The "ego-check" is firmly in place.
