INTRODUCTION
Following
are the guidelines for using cartoon artwork created by Len Jones. This
includes the single panel cartoon ALTAR EGO.
Cartoons
are a great way to bring humor to any publication. Whether in print or
in digital form, (i.e. Internet, Intranet, electronically distributed
documents), cartoons bring people back again and again to publications
of all types and sizes.
If you
are a NONPROFIT organization, the use of cartoon artwork by Len Jones
is free as long as the guidelines outlined below are followed. If you
are a 'FOR-PROFIT' organization, there is a related cost to utilize any
cartoon artwork by Len Jones. Custom cartoons or illustrations are also
available upon request. (See GUIDELINES
FOR USE IN A 'FOR PROFIT' ORGANIZATION section below for details on
For-profit usage).
If there
are any questions concerning these guidelines,
for assistance.

Once a permission
request is received for print quality cartoon usage, a link to the print
quality download site will be emailed to the requester. A black-and-white
print quality version of each cartoon will be available from the download
site. Please use these special files created for print use rather than
trying to use cartoon images displayed on the web. At only 72dpi, the
web versions do not contain enough detail to print well. The print version
of each cartoon is a 300 dpi black-and-white TIF file which is supported
by most, if not all production print software and word processors.
You can
obtain images for print in the following ways:
- From the
print quality download site, do the following:
- Move
your cursor over the 'Download image' link below the thumbnail image
of the cartoon that you want to use.
- Specific
to type of computer:
- PC:
right-click on the 'Download image' link. A menu box will appear.
Click on 'Save target as' and save image wherever you store your
images on your computer. Before you save; If the file extension
of the file name reads '.tiff', remove one of the 'f's so the file
extension reads '.tif'.
- MAC:
Click and hold down your mouse button on the 'Download image' link.
A menu box will appear. Click on 'Download link to disk' and save
image wherever you store your images on your computer. For OS X users - Press
the 'Download image' link to open an image window.
Press Ctrl and click on the image. Hit save image as...
- Once
you save the image onto your computer you can use it as needed.
- Via
Email: Email Len at akajones@lanset.com and indicate which cartoons
you want to use. Len will return your request with the chosen image(s).(See
INFO TO INCLUDE IN EMAIL REQUEST section below
for what information to include in request.)
- High
Quality Copies Via US Mail: Email Len at akajones@lanset.com and
indicate which cartoons you want to use and that you want to receive
them via US Postal service. Len will return your email request with
a US postal address. Send a SASE to the address along with what images
you want to use. Len will return up to five 8.5" X 11" high
quality copies of chosen images. (See INFO
TO INCLUDE IN EMAIL REQUEST section below for what information to
include in request.)
NOTE:
The black-and-white print quality cartoon files are not to be used on
web sites as they will cause your site pages to load very slow.
